About Us
Beachside Montessori School believes that all children are unique individuals with different needs, interests, and abilities. Our task is to aid children in their work of self-creation to help them become independent learners and thinkers. We are a child centered school that focuses on meeting the individual needs of each student, therefore we are committed to providing a safe nurturing environment where the children are respected and permitted to develop their own natural rate of development.
Beachside Montessori School is licensed by the Florida's Department of Children and Families, registered with the Florida State Board of Education, and a member of the American Montessori Society. AMS accreditation affirms that a school meets a standard of excellence recognized by educators and Montessorians worldwide. All staff members are infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified.
Meet the Directors
Founders / Headmistresses
Ysset DeCarlo founded Morningside Montessori School in 2002. In addition to working for MMS, she is a community leader, with over 18 years of educational experience. In 2016 she and Madeline Taboada of Madeline Montessori co-founded BMS. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Education from Florida International University, as well as various Early Childhood Credentials ranging from birth to six years of age from The American Montessori Society and The International Montessori Council.
